I've been reviewing children's books with my son since he was 5 years old, and I can always tell when he loves a book. Actually, he can spot a good children's book immediately. Although he is now 10, my son still likes reviewing children's books and helping me recommend good literature to parents of little ones.

Whiny Whiny Rhino is absolutely engaging, attractive, stimulating and well...simply adorable. My son, who has a keen eye for detail, was very impressed by the illustrations. They are bright and eye-catching. The illustrators' use of bold colors are remarkable. My son plain out told me he loved loved the illustrations, pointing things out to me that I might have missed. He thought they were funny too. I tell you, kids and adults do not see the same things in books for children. Illustrators like McBoop who can make the story come alive and enhance it with just the right illustrations are the ones who get kids!

We also both liked the rhyming story line and the message that you don't need to be strong or tough to try new things and have fun. The variety of animal characters was smart too, showing that we can have different kinds of friends from all walk of life and places.

When I mentioned to my son that this book may the first of a series, he said he was excited to see what the next book would be like. He also liked that it was a father/daughter team who created this book.

My son and I think this is the perfect book for any kid, but especially that kid who shies away from trying new things or who is scared of getting hurt when engaging in rough and tumble play. We can't wait to see what else McBoop has in store for us, both for kids and adults *ahem* who have to read to their kids.
